 OFFICIAL WEEKEND ACTIVITIES

SATURDAY: CHARLOTTE CITY TOUR

This tour included a journey into Charlotte's entertainment areas, including museums, galleries and restaurants.  We went into the historic neighborhoods and much more.  We had a hilarious tour guide that not only told us about the history of Charlotte, but also told us about all of the exciting things that Charlotte has to offer now. We took a family picture while in the heart of Charlotte.

SATURDAY NIGHT:  WE GOT CLOSER WITH
                             SOME BOWLING!!

This was our informal Saturday night banquet! We had a private room and several reserved lanes at a local bowling/games facility (within walking distance of the hotel) called Strike City (www.strikecitycharlotte.com). The private room also had its own bowling lanes and bar. We had our own waitstaff and FOOD, FOOD, AND MORE FOOD!! We had so much fun while eating, bowling and getting to know each other better!

Afterwards, there were so many things to do in the area. Strike City is in the new Epicenter in Uptown Charlotte. Many family members took this opportunity to explore uptown Charlotte and discover what Charlotte nightlife had to offer!

SUNDAY NIGHT: LOVE, PEACE & FAMILY BANQUET

This was our formal family banquet in the hotel’s banquet hall. We had a talent show and other activities. Who knew that we had such talented poets, dancers and comedians in the family??  Music was provided by an out of this world dj and dancing was HIGHLY encouraged.

IN THE MEANTIME, IN BETWEEN TIME...

While waiting for the official activities, there were even more things for us to do...

Friday NightDinner at Lola's Restaurant
To kick off the weekend, we had a fabulous dinner at Lola's Restaurant (300 S. Brevard Street).  We reserved the entire restaurant, so we could mingle, linger and eat as long as we pleased!  The macaroni & cheese was the hit of the night!

Saturday Morning: Discovery Place
We rediscovered science while having a blast!  Many family members took a group trip to Discovery Place.  This interactive museum allows you to have a hands on experience with lots of exhibits!

Sunday MorningBreakfast at Lola's
The Ellerbee Family once again made our way to our adopted "Ellerbee Family Restaurant", Lola's.  We had a filling breakfast of biscuits, eggs, pancakes and much more!  We were too stuffed to move!

Sunday Afternoon: Levine Museum of the New South
After breakfast, we went to find out about the growth of the south overall and Charlotte specifically.  We experienced the feel of cotton plants and sat at an authentic 1950's lunch counter!

Sunday Afternoon: Horse Drawn Carriage Rides
We then enjoyed a slow ride throughout Charlotte.  For those who wanted to enjoy Charlotte while slowly cruising through the streets of uptown Charlotte, we had the perfect activity!!  Horse drawn carriages  arrived at the front door of our hotel just to take us throughout uptown Charlotte!
