OFFICIAL WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
SATURDAY: CHARLOTTE CITY TOUR
The tour will include a journey into Charlotte's entertainment areas, including museums, galleries and restaurants. We will also go into the historic neighborhoods and much more. We will have a tour guide who will not only tell you about the history of Charlotte, but also all of the exciting things that Charlotte has to offer now. We can also include a stop at any one of the local galleries, museums or shopping areas. This will also be the best time to take a family picture while in the heart of Charlotte.
SATURDAY NIGHT: LET'S GET CLOSER WITH
SOME BOWLING!!
This will be an informal Saturday night banquet! We will have a private room at a local bowling/games facility (within walking distance of the hotel) called Strike City (www.strikecitycharlotte.com). This private room has its own bowling lanes and bar. We will have our own waitstaff and FOOD, FOOD, AND MORE FOOD!! Even if you don’t want to bowl, we will have plenty other games and this will be the perfect time to meet and greet other family members. So join us for food and fellowship!
Afterwards, there will be so many things to do in the area. Strike City is in the new Epicenter in Uptown Charlotte. The Epicenter has several restaurants, shops and jazz clubs in the area. There is also a movie theater in the Epicenter with its own restaurant that allows (in fact, encourages) you to eat a full dinner while watching the movies. There are also trolleys and trains that will take you throughout Charlotte. This can be your time to explore uptown Charlotte and see what the Queen City has to offer!
SUNDAY NIGHT: LOVE, PEACE & FAMILY BANQUET
This will be the formal family banquet in the hotel’s banquet hall. We will have a talent show and other activities. Music will be provided and dancing will be HIGHLY encouraged. We will also take a vote on the location of the next reunion at the end of this evening. The official formal program will be established at a later date.

Friday Afternoon: Charlotte Walking Tour
Here's something for all of you walkers! Experience the sights and sounds of uptown Charlotte first hand as you walk through the streets. There will be a walking tour guide who will show you all of the exciting features right around the hotel in the heart of Charlotte. This activity is completely free! Just bring your favorite walking shoes and camera! This tour leaves from the Charlotte Visitor's Center (330 S. Tryon Street), located only blocks from the hotel. There are two tours at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Saturday Morning: Discovery Place
Rediscover science while having a blast! We will have a group trip to Discovery Place. This interactive museum allows you to have a hands on experience with lots of exhibits! There's also an IMAX theater for all of you movie buffs. The cost of admission is $12 for adults and $9 for kids.
Sunday Morning: Worship Services
For those who would like to attend worship services on Sunday Morning, we will provide a list of churches within the vicinity. There will be a group going to a local church in the area, so we will try to carpool as much as possible.
Sunday Afternoon: Levine Museum of the New South
Take this time to find out about the growth of the south overall and Charlotte specifically. Experience the feel of cotton plants and sit at an authentic 1950's lunch counter! This is a free event!! Just come ready to learn!
Sunday Afternoon: Horse Drawn Carriage Rides
For those who would like to enjoy Charlotte while slowly cruising through the streets of uptown Charlotte, we have the perfect thing for you!! Horse drawn carriages will arrive at the front door of the hotel just to take you throughout uptown Charlotte. Each carriage can accomodate at least four people and the ride will last 30 minutes. There is a small charge ($9), but it will be more than worth it!
